UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the digital world
The World Wide Web is coming of age in the same year as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. But, how do children and young people’s online and digital interactions impact upon the rights afforded to them under the Convention, and how will they do so in the future?
On Thursday 20th November – the 25th anniversary of the UNCRC – Baroness Kidron will lead a debate on this issue in the House of Lords examining how children's rights can be protected and promoted in the digital age.
NCB and CRAE have written a briefing, describing the impact of the digital world on children's rights, including education, health, participation, protection from violence and abuse and privacy.
