New Briefing - The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child’s Concluding Observations on the UK: How civil society organisations can use them

In May 2023, the UK Government was examined on its compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) for the first time since 2016. While the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (UN Committee) noted some areas of progress since its last report on the UK, it highlighted a wide range of issues that are detrimentally impacting on children and made nearly 200 recommendations for action in its Concluding Observations on the UK.

Our new briefing, which we have produced in partnership with Unicef UK, is a useful resource to support civil society organisations working on any issues relating to children to use the Concluding Observations in policy and public affairs work. We hope it will be a helpful tool to ensure children's rights are better respected.
