Prior to Covid-19, we routinely encountered evidence of children’s services departments lacking capacity to support vulnerable children and young people, particularly in relation to care leavers, who make up a significant proportion of our clients. Now, with the pandemic, we are concerned that pre-existing delays, problems and shortfalls have been exacerbated. Just for Kids Law and CRAE shared these concerns in our submission to the Education Select Committee Inquiry on the impact of Covid-19 on education and children’s social care.
